A stucco wall, a beautiful girl and a splash of red…sometimes that’s all a photographer needs to be inspired. I took Danielle’s senior portraits on one of my absolute favorite streets in Santa Fe. It was one of those rare days when we actually have overcast skies in the Southwest. The light is soft but I love the contrast in colors and all the textures.
Love is in the air…literally! Ok so it’s not unusual for people to fly into Santa Fe for their destination wedding, but these guys actually met on a Southwest Airlines flight! Crystal is a self-professed nervous flyer, and she says if you sit next to her on a plane she will probably talk your ear off just to keep herself calm. So back in 2007, she’s on an early morning flight from Dallas to Lubbock and the plane is almost empty, except for this cute guy Josh who was seated in the row behind her. Needless to say, they chatted each other up for the duration of the flight. Through their conversation they discovered that they had both grown up in the Lubbock area, and as luck would have it, they were both currently living in Dallas. By the end of the flight, they had exchanged numbers. Once back in Dallas, the romance took off, the couple had their first four dates in the same week! Crystal says “I think it’s a case of opposites attracting. We are extremely different, really. However, at the end of the day, we both completely share the exact same West Texas values and ethics, which we greatly appreciate in each other. Plus, have you seen his eyes, and his smile?” Does anyone else need a tissue? I love a great love story!

A beautiful place…a beautiful day…and a beautiful couple…the perfect ingredients for a beautiful wedding! Carla & John said “I do” on Labor Day weekend at the Randall Davey Audubon Center here in Santa Fe. It truly was the perfect setting for their relaxed and casual soiree. Their guests lounged on the lawn, drinks in hand, as they waited for the nuptials to begin. When Carla walked down “the aisle” she was absolutely radiant! After the ceremony everyone enjoyed a fabulous catered meal from La Boca (a local favorite for tapas!). Then family and friends danced away until the sun set. There were no wallflowers at this party…dancing and having fun were mandatory!
I have fallen in love with this couple and their families! The love and support Carla & John have from those closest to them is so evident and a joy to witness. Today was just the first day of many years of wedded bliss to come! Congratulations to you both from the bottom of my heart! And thank you for allowing me to share such an amazingly beautiful day with you both. XOXO ~Ginger
My big fat Greek wedding! Ok…my skinny, intimate, but definitely Greek wedding! I’ve always been curious about that white building nestled among the homes on the hillside near Eldorado. “Is that a church?” people ask. Yes! It’s a lovely Greek Orthodox church. It was so exciting to photograph a wedding there and to see the interior. The walls and ceiling are covered in iconography painted in the classic Byzantine style. It practically glows from all the gilding…such a beautiful spiritual space. As if the setting wasn’t beautiful enough, let’s talk about the couple…hubba hubba! Maggie was a vision so elegant, she looked like Grace Kelly. Though Kostas needed a little coaching to relax in front of the camera, he is clearly a handsome man. After the ceremony everyone jettisoned over to the Hotel St. Francis in downtown Santa Fe. There the guests were treated to another visual feast courtesy of Jessie Abrams Baca. Once again she worked her design magic! The ballroom was decked out in royal Peacock colors…so many lush hues of blues, greens and ochers. She transformed rustic items like cotton blooms, pine cones and succulents into sheer elegance. Such a beautiful wedding…Opa!
Just lovely all around-beautiful dress, charming couple, picturesque setting–all carefully captured. Well done! Best wishes for a long and happy marriage. Sherry (Lee’s mom)

The Perez Family traveled to Santa Fe from Laredo TX and Puerto Rico to celebrate their parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. Their children surprised them with a portrait session before dinner at the Inn of the Anasazi. What a wonderful milestone for their marriage…congratulations to Mr & Mrs Perez!
