Maria & Zak – Four Seasons Encantado

“At last my love has come along”…during his toast Zak’s uncle sang the classic Etta James line to him and Maria…“then the spell was cast, and here we are in heaven, for you are mine at last.” The couple decided to see each other before the ceremony, so we staged the reveal on a hilltop behind the resort. It was awesome to see the love and excitement on their faces as they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day! And in spite of the recent wildfires this past week, their wedding on the mesa at sunset was spectacular!

Mia & Vance – Estrella Del Norte Vineyard

All you need is Love…For some couples when they first meet it can be compared to fireworks igniting. For Mia & Vance it was a little different, they were actually shooting fireworks at one another! One day Mia and a friend were hanging out and decided on a whim to shoot bottle rockets at the unsuspecting guys next door. I guess that’s one way to get a boy’s attention…and it worked because minutes later Vance fired one back! So this girl, who’s a little bit Hippie, and this guy who’s a little bit Rock ‘n’ Roll acted on this spark of attraction and began pursuing a relationship. And that four year journey has culminated in them becoming husband and wife! Mia walked down the aisle barefoot looking like a modern version of Pocahontas. It was a perfect day at the Estrella Del Norte Vineyard, there was great wine and great food and family and friends enjoyed their wedding celebration until sunset. It was an absolute pleasure for me to share this day with Mia, Vance and both of their families. Thank you!

Elena Barnett - I love the colors and flowers but I am just wondering with the long table like that, did the height of the flowers make conversation difficult?

October 22, 2013 - 12:14 pm

ginger - No Elena…the floral arrangements didn’t make it difficult at all for the guests to have conversations. There was plenty of space in between the vases and plus people will get up and move around during a party. ~Ginger

Mikala & Jay – Eldorado Hotel

Love is patient…sometimes in life our paths may cross but it’s not until God’s plan comes into focus that we realize we were meant to be together. This is true for Mikala and Jay. The couple were childhood friends, but went on to lead separate lives for many years, until seeing one another again at a friend’s birthday party. And that simple reconnection redefined their lives. The bride, a native to the Southwest, returned with her groom to celebrate their Spanish style wedding with family here in Santa Fe. It was definitely a family affair, not only the guests but the participants. Mikala’s two sons walked her down the aisle, and Jay’s niece and nephew stood with him at the altar while the bride’s father performed the ceremony. And true to spring in Santa Fe, we experienced every flavor of weather on this blessed day!

Debbi & Albert – Loretto Chapel

There is a saying in Spanish “mi familia es mi vida” and for this couple their families clearly are very important. Debbi and Albert were joined by their parents, siblings and adorable nieces and nephews for an intimate exchange of vows last Saturday. The wedding ceremony took place at the lovely Loretto Chapel. Everyone in attendance radiated love and joy as they witnessed the joining together of these two lives. Congratulations and thanks for allowing me to share your wedding day!

Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm

Chickens, pigs and goats…oh my! I just became a volunteer farmer at Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm. Everyone in my family knows that I have a soft spot for all animals, but especially goats…there’s just something about them, they are strange little creatures! So I signed up as a barnyard volunteer and this means I get to feed and water the chickens, collect their eggs, and help care for the goats too!

Besides being an organic farm, Los Poblanos is a fabulous historic inn as well. If you’ve never been, it’s located in the historic neighborhood of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque. Los Poblanos is best known for it’s lavender fields and participation in the annual Lavender Festival. Last September my husband and I treated ourselves to a 2 night stay to celebrate his 40th birthday. It was so wonderful we didn’t want to leave!
