Love at La Fonda

I always feel blessed to be around couples who love each other and who can’t help but show it! Julia and Zach were childhood friends that fell in love. It is easy to tell they’ve known each other for a long time because of how relaxed, silly and loving they are with each other.

They said “I Do” on the beautiful terrace of the La Fonda Hotel in downtown Santa Fe with the St. Francis Cathedral and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains as the backdrop to their wedding. Early October is perfect time to get married in Northern New Mexico and this day was no exception. Accompanied by their beloved dogs, Charlie and Louis, as ring bearer and best dog, their close friends, and their incredibly supportive families, it was truly a day to be remembered.

I’m a Cowboy Baby!

Don’t let anyone tell you that cowboys (or girls) don’t know how to have a good time! I had an absolute blast chasing Angela and Bode around with my camera on their wedding day. It was truly an amazing celebration…heart felt and rowdy, just like I like it! A small village of people, about 400, came from Texas and New Mexico to witness the couple take their vows at the Hyatt Tamaya…then everyone ate, drank and danced the night away. It was a wonderful time, best party ever! And I loved her grandparents, such a sweet couple who have been married over 50 years…they are a wonderful example of marriage for their family. Congratulations to Angela and Bode, may you be blessed to share your lives together for as many years.

Unforgettable outdoor ceremony in Santa Fe!

I had an amazing time with Patrick and Elise last Saturday! This Austin Texas couple wed at the stunning modern art space, Gerald Peters Art Gallery. Most of my clients have some kind of connection to Santa Fe, whether they are now transplanted natives or went to college here. Elise’s dad lives here so when it came to deciding on a destination for their wedding it was a natural choice to host it in the City Different.

Once again New Mexico delivered on weather. The monsoons came early in the afternoon, pouring down buckets of rain but cleared up just in time to cool off and give a freshness to the air, creating a perfect August evening. The couple said their vows in the lush sculpture garden with the koi pond as their back drop. It truly was an unforgettable Santa Fe garden wedding!

Enchanted wedding in the Land of Enchantment

Alayna and Pierce wanted a destination wedding that was close to their hearts, so they chose to return to the bride’s native state of New Mexico. Their wedding was a celebration of family and close friends hosted at the Four Seasons Encantado, one of the top Santa Fe wedding venues known for it’s relaxed, elegant environment. The rain broke just in time for a stunning ceremony outside, followed by cocktails in the Terra Courtyard, and later dinner and dancing in the Aspen Ballroom. At the end of dinner, the couple snuck away for a few photos atop the mesa during the spectacular sunset. New Mexico’s weather provides an incredible back drop most days and this day was no exception! Thank you for sharing your beautiful Santa Fe wedding with me and I wish you both happiness and joy in your new life together.

Forget about Hawaii, let’s get married in New Mexico!

Lush Outdoor Wedding in Santa Fe, New Mexico
Most couples go to Hawaii to get married, but Kim and Kevin left the islands behind to get married in the Land of Enchantment! Kevin is a New Mexico native and Kim is a California girl, so it made sense for this couple to come back to the mainland for their nuptials. Their ceremony and wedding celebration was hosted at a generous friend’s private ranch in Santa Fe. It was an absolutely gorgeous outdoor ceremony and the couple’s little boy stole the show as they exchanged vows underneath the cottonwood trees. One of my favorite things about Kevin and Kim is their ability to make each other laugh. That’s why you see them smiling, laughing and cracking each other up in so many of their photos. Clearly they bring each other joy! Congrats to you both and thanks for allowing me to share in your happiness!
