Love at La Fonda, Texas style!

Rachel and Aaron drove in from Odessa, Texas to have their dream destination wedding in Santa Fe. Their wedding celebration was held over the July 4th weekend so that they and their guests could enjoy a little longer stay in the City Different. Such a beautiful, beautiful bride…out on the terrace at La Terraza she glowed like an absolute angel. The only person who even attempted to upstage the bride was her precious niece, one of the flower girls. She simply could not understand why the other flower girl was throwing the petals on the ground, so she went behind her picking them up and putting them back in the basket as they went down the aisle! I so enjoyed my day with Rachel and Aaron, their families and their friends.

Cupid hits his Target!

I always love to hear the story of how my couples met. Brynn and Matias first met at Colorado College at a Halloween party where the gorgeous bride came dressed as Barbie! After getting to know each other briefly at school, a few years later they reconnected in Denver one evening while both shopping at Target! When it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be and love well find you wherever you are.

Brynn is originally from Santa Fe, so it was an easy decision for the couple when it came to choosing the spot for their destination wedding. It was a perfect June day, warm and breezy, and at times the cottonwood blowing in the wind looked like snow. Their outdoor ceremony at La Posada de Santa Fe was a lovely heart felt affair, officiated by the bride’s Godfather. Congrats to Brynn and Matias and many thanks for sharing your amazing wedding day with me!

Verano del amor

Fate has it’s way! For Heather and Eric it was as simple as a forgotten Spanish dictionary. They met as students at IU Bloomington in a Spanish class and their romance blossomed from there. So I suppose choosing Santa Fe as their wedding destination could be interpreted as a theme! They had a lovely outdoor ceremony at La Posada de Santa Fe, officiated by the bride’s Aunt Beth. It was an amazing day and I had so much fun with Heather and Eric. And I was touched to discover that it was also Heather’s parents 33rd wedding anniversary that same day…how sweet and so very meaningful.

Congratulations to the bride and groom and congratulations to Nancy and Bob…may both couples be blessed with many years of love and happiness together!

Love at Loretto Chapel

Good things come to those who wait… Kristi and Pearce had planned for their Santa Fe destination wedding to take place last year in March, however a family circumstance caused them to postpone their original plan. So everyone was delighted that they were able to travel here last week from Oklahoma for their wedding at the Loretto Chapel. After the ceremony, passersby cheered for them and offered warm wishes as the happy couple and I took to the streets of downtown Santa Fe. It was a perfect Spring day and I truly enjoyed my time with these two sweet people!

A Fiesta of Color!

I love it when fellow photographers ask me to photograph their wedding. It is a special honor to have another artist love your work and trust you to capture their day. The Hacienda Doña Andrea is one of my favorite Santa Fe wedding venues and I’ve had the privilege to photograph weddings there for the past 10 years. That being said, I have NEVER seen it look so great. Stefanie and Jacob did an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G job with decorating the entire hacienda, indoors and out. It was stunningly streamed with papel picado and Mexican paper flowers galore. My jaw dropped when I arrived and saw what all they had done! It was incredibly beautiful and festive…the perfect backdrop for their intimate, heartfelt wedding celebration.
